FRANK BLANEY
CHIEF INSTRUCTOR
Frank Blaney is the chief instructor and facilitator for
Self-Empowered Health Qigong/Tai Chi. He is a certified
Qigong and Tai Chi instructor who has fulfilled the
recommended guidelines for professional Qigong teachers, as
prescribed by the N.Q.A. (National Qigong Association). Mr.
Blaney completed his Qigong training through Integral
Institute of Qigong and Tai Chi (I.I.Q.T.C.), founded by Dr.
Roger Jahnke (O.M.D.), one of the foremost Western
experts of Qigong in its medical applications. This is what Dr.
Jahnke had to say regarding Frank Blaney:
"Frank is a naturally gifted teacher who has a genuine
concern for the well-being of his students. He is passionate
about empowering people to take control of their health and
to equip them with simple tools to enrich their lives." Dr.
Roger Jahnke, (O.M.D) Santa Barbara, CA. Director of the
Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi (I.I.Q.T.C.),
cofounder of the National Qigong Association (N.Q.A), and
author of The Healer Within, and The Healing Promise of Qi.
Mr. Blaney began his Qigong practice for very personal
reasons; in response to a personal health crisis. While using
prescribed medications, a Biology PhD. friend of his
recommended finding a less intrusive approach to his
condition. After practicing simple Qigong movements for just
15 minutes a day, within a week he felt a radical alleviation of
symptoms and soon was able to cease taking medication and
treatments. Because of these remarkable results Mr. Blaney
continued his personal study and practice of Qigong.
Eventually he felt led to teach these exercises on a
professional level in order to help other people find greater
health and vitality in their everyday lives.
Besides his daily practice of Qigong and Tai Chi, Mr. Blaney
has been an avid practitioner of the martial arts for many
years. He is a black belt and certified instructor in Budoshin
Jujitsu, has regularly trained in Aikido, and has participated
in many martial arts seminars.
Mr. Blaney is also a certified Violence Prevention Specialist
and a co-instructor in the women's self-defense program of a
non-profit organization. "Peace Over Violence," (formerly
the Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women--
LACAAW).
Along with his formal education of a Bachelors Degree with a
focus on Intercultural Studies, and a Masters Degree in
Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding, Mr.
Blaney has been a life long student of world history and
religion, sociology, politics, health, exercise, and nutrition.
Mr. Blaney's desire is to teach these simple, yet powerful
exercises of Qigong and Tai Chi to individuals and
organizations to help empower people to heal themselves and
take control of their own health. His long term hope is to
someday incorporate his commitment to self-defense,
violence prevention, literacy training, as well as the
self-empowering health practice of Qigong, and provide these
resources to communities in need.
Mr. Blaney has extensive public speaking experience and is
available for both trainings and for speaking engagements.
His intense training and study of Qigong and Therapeutic Tai
Chi give him interesting insight and analysis into these
ancient complementary medicine practices. He has important
information to share on their beneficial implications for
individuals and society as a whole.
